The Metropolitan Junior Golf Program is a 501 (c)(3), non-profit organization, and as such most of our activities are funded through generous donations, fundraising events, and the contributions of our volunteers. We would love to add you to our growing list of individual and corporate Donors and Volunteers.

If your company has a matching gift program we encourage you to take advantage of it. These matching gift programs make your donation dollars even more significant. MJGP’s Tax ID is 94 - 3301366. Member Benefits


1. OP36 training. This is offered at the following public courses - Pleasanton Golf Center and Tilden Park. It may be offered thru Elevate Golf Academy as well. MJGP will reimburse up to $345 per junior that presents a valid invoice for reimbursement after the training has concluded. This is a one-time benefit per junior.


2. Golf Camps. MJGP will reimburse up to $275 per junior for the first ten (10) juniors that present a valid 2024 dated invoice for reimbursement after their golf camp has concluded. This is 2024 calendar year benefit.


3. Golf Tournaments and Lessons. MJGP will reimburse up to $75 per junior that presents a valid invoice for reimbursement after their tournament or golf lessons have concluded. This is an annual benefit per junior.

Leonard P. “Googie” Kirtley, Jr. Memorial Scholarship


A percentage of funds raised during the year is designated for our scholarship program. Two scholarships of up to $1,000 are awarded to our college bound high school seniors pursuing undergraduate study at an accredited two or four year institution. Each Spring a contest is held to determine the scholarship recipients for the upcoming Fall semester.


The scholarships are awarded in two equal payments. The first payment is awarded upon announcement of our winners in the Spring. The second payment is awarded in February for the second semester, after verification of a GPA of 2.5 or higher for the first semester.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Current participant in the Metropolitan Junior Golf Program.
  • MJGP participant for 3 years or more.
  • High school senior planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college or university in the fall of the current year.
  • Cumulative 3.0 or better GPA in High School on a 4.0 scale.
  • Complete and submit a scholarship application in accordance with the instructions within.
